The Challenge

numi was tasked with identifying candidates with the ability to bringing new products to market that solve real-world problems for real-life customers, not just innovation for the sake of innovation.

Our mandate was to deliver an entirely new Product Leadership function, a new way of thinking, and to maintain anonymity whilst the ventures are still operating in stealth mode.

We were tasked with:

  • Finding people who can manage the full product lifecycle, builders and makers with hands on product management successes shipping large-scale consumer-facing products and services.
  • Identifying individual contributors who could also combine people management and leadership experience.
  • Engaging with people who have experience of managing 0-1 product environments, enabling team members to have autonomy to collaborate and work in a cross-functional way.
  • Find people we are  intellectually curious and compassionate people who would like to expand their skills whilst working on this new exciting venture for the firm.
  • Collaborating with an internal team that was at capacity and with no time to manage processes, direct applications or searches.

What We Did

Due to the project operating in stealth, under NDA, numi solved multiple immediate go-to market challenges through unique and engaging video based content to increase response rates.

We researched and market mapped over 70 competitors to curate the head hunt and targets for the long list.

We agreed on a clearly defined and collaborative process, conducting in-depth discovery calls for each role to unpick the key requirements for technical and cultural skillsets.

numi put together a team to take accountability for growing the Product team. We streamlined and efficiently managed the process, utilising WhatsApp for instant messaging, weekly syncs for data reporting, feedback and calibration, and integrated into JPM ATS to manage the entire candidate pipeline.

All candidates received a bespoke and personalised outreach with an initial Candidate Pack, with the creation of a more detailed Candidate Interview Pack containing in-depth details of the process, all points of contacts, overview of the business and an FAQ section to ensure full process transparency.

To maintain a diverse and inclusive candidate pipeline and process, all job ads and outreach messages were gender decoded.

Candidate interview experiences and thoughts were shared with the JPM team to stay in tune with all feedback on the candidate journey.
